Following the statutes, the five areas of work of the association TRION-climate are the trinational networking of the energy and climate actors, the organization of cross-border exchanges, the support to companies, the development of projects and trinational data compilation. For this purpose, many activities have been implemented since the establishment of the association in March 2015.
TRION-climate e.V. consisted of 8 members at its creation, and until the end of 2019 the Network has been expanded to 88 members. During this period, 25 conferences, 11 visits and 5 general assemblies have been organized. Over 3 300 people took part to these meetings, and over 300 experts intervened.
TRION-climate participate to the Interreg-projects Clim’Ability and RES-TMO as a co-financing partner, and to SuMo-Rhine and Atmo-VISION as an associated partner.
A trinational comparative study “Greehouse gas emissions, energy consumption, renewables: implementation of the climatic and energetic objectives in the Upper Rhine” has been published at the end of 2019. The catalogue of good practices showing the exemplary renewable power generation facilities and high performing buildings is updated regularly and is published on an interactice map in close collaboration with GeoRhena.
TRION-climate is partner of many trade shows on energy in the Upper Rhine (GETEC, GeoTHERM, ExpoBIOGAS) and provides the opportunity to its members to be under-exposer on the stand of TRION-climate.
