TRION-climate e.V.
Network
TRION-climate is a Franco-German-Swiss network of energy and climate stakeholders. The non-profit association was founded in 2015 within the Upper Rhine Conference.
The Grand Est Region and the European Community of Alsace, the German states of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, and the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft provide strategic leadership for the association and financial support for its activities. Since its creation, a wide range of cities, companies, chambers and other institutions have joined the network. TRION-climate currently has over 100 members.
Purpose
The association’s purpose is to promote environmental protection by fostering cross-border cooperation in the fields of climate and energy within the Trinational Upper Rhine Metropolitan Region (Article 2.2 of the association’s statutes).
Its aim is to build a cross-border network of organisations active in the energy and climate sectors, to promote knowledge sharing, to support the compilation of trinational data, and to create opportunities for cross-border projects.
