As the Swiss partner for cross-border cooperation in the Upper Rhine region, Regio Basiliensis champions the transformation of the area into a unified European border region, playing an active role in its development.

Founded in 1963, Regio Basiliensis operates both as an association, now supported by around 350 individual members and 180 collective members, and in a governmental capacity. Since 1970, it has represented the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft, later expanding its mandate to include the canton of Aargau in 1996 and the cantons of Solothurn and Jura in 2003. The organisation is dedicated to advancing regional policy and cross-border collaboration.

From small businesses to global leaders, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Southern Upper Rhine (IHK Südlicher Oberrhein) represents the interests of the local economy in dealings with political and administrative authorities. We provide our 70,000 members with expert and independent advice, offer a wide range of services, and carry out tasks entrusted to us by the state.

Agence du climat, the climate agency of the Eurométropole de Strasbourg is as a one-stop shop for solutions in housing, mobility, energy, greening, and sustainable consumption across the metropolitan area. Its “multi-service” approach marks a major step in addressing the climate emergency and accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Climate Plan.

The agency’s mission is to provide tailored support to all residents and users, but also to businesses and municipalities within the Eurométropole, helping them identify and adopt the solutions best suited to their daily needs.

Plattform Erneuerbare Energien Baden-Württemberg is an organisation that brings together associations, companies, and research institutes in the renewable energy sector in Baden-Württemberg. Founded in March 2019, the association is committed rapidly developing renewable energies and driving the cross-sectoral energy transition across the region.

Plattform EE aims to raise public awareness on the importance of renewable energy for climate policy, industrial policy, and the national economy. Renewable energies are not only a sustainable energy source but also a source of employment.

Solar Cluster Baden-Württemberg represents the solar sector within the state. We provide a platform for information, discussion, projects, and networking, serving as advisors to policymakers, a bridge between science and industry, and a public-facing voice for the sector.  Our membership includes around 60 organisations from crafts, industry, associations, and research institutes.

The Cluster aims to strengthen the profile of solar energy in Baden-Württemberg by providing targeted information to the media and public, increasing the share of solar energy in the energy mix, and promoting the development of renewable energies across the state. We also support the state government in achieving its climate protection goals and advancing solar initiatives in Baden-Württemberg.

In the Grand Est region, the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) coordinates and supports the activities of the seven territorial CCIs, offering businesses a comprehensive range of services from start-up and succession support to ecological transition, training, and innovation assistance. The CCI International Grand Est division helps companies expand into export markets and promotes regional expertise abroad.

The CCI Grand Est also plays a unifying role, forging strong partnerships with economic institutions such as the Conseil Régional, ADEME, CMAR, and France Travail, while ensuring national policies (from the State and CCI France) are implemented locally.

As a hub for strategic collaboration, it is fully committed to driving ecological, digital, and HR transitions, while supporting the transformation of key regional industries, including automotive, hydrogen, and nuclear.

Cap à l’Est is a professional association founded in 2021 with the aim of promoting photovoltaic energy in the Grand Est region. It now represents a network of around sixty members.

The association works to boost the photovoltaic market by stimulating both supply and demand. It regularly organises events to promote solar energy and delivers training programmes for installers.

fokus.energie e.V. is a non-profit network of energy stakeholders based in Karlsruhe. It is an independent platform open to all sustainable technologies related to energy production, storage, distribution, and use. The association provides a trusted environment for exchanging ideas and sharing expertise, connecting founders, innovators, entrepreneurs, institutions, policymakers, and investors.

fokus.energie links key players from research, education, SMEs, and large enterprises with the creativity and vision of committed start-ups. Its work focuses on practical projects in education and entrepreneurship, such as AXEL, its energy accelerator programme. The association operates as a participatory initiative, bringing together actors from business, education, science, and politics.

Founded in 2013, Smart Grids-Plattform Baden-Württemberg e.V. is a network of key stakeholders from the energy sector, from the energy sector, alongside representatives from research, academia, policymaking, industry, IT, and civil society.

The association promotes smart energy grids to make the energy transition as efficient as possible. Its 10 staff members and 76 members, supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy, work towards the platform’s long-term goal: CO₂-free energy production in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and beyond.

The platform’s main focus areas, which also represent the key themes for advancing energy system digitalisation, include smart meter deployment, e-mobility, and smart, energy-optimised districts with sector coupling. Developing smart energy and electricity networks is a core goal and a cross-cutting theme connecting all other activities.

The association primarily focuses on networking stakeholders, fostering intensive exchange, and leveraging synergies. It also initiates, prepares, and implements projects—including research projects such as the large-scale Callia and C/sells initiatives. To support collaboration, it organises events and working groups, alongside extensive communication activities to actively showcase member initiatives and developments in the smart grid field.

The Chamber of Architects of the State of Baden-Württemberg acts as a service provider, collective representative, and regulatory body for its roughly 25,000 members, who specialize in building construction, interior architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning.

The Chamber has an autonomous administration: through democratically elected bodies, it establishes a professional code, sets professional policies, and contributes to the development of laws and regulations. Architects draw on their practical professional experience to respond quickly to emerging developments within these governing bodies.

In addition to the main office in Stuttgart, four regional offices (Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Tübingen, Freiburg) and 42 local groups maintain direct contact with members. The Chamber provides professional training for members and organizes public events such as conferences, excursions, exhibitions, and roundtables on current topics in architecture and urban planning.

Agence Qualité Construction (Construction Quality Agency) is a non-profit association under French law that unites nearly all major stakeholders in French construction around a shared mission: preventing building defects and improving construction quality. To achieve this, AQC relies on several specialised observatories to monitor defects, emerging pathologies, recurring claims, and high-performance building issues. It also produces a wide range of educational resources for professionals, trainers (technical colleges, engineering schools, architecture schools), and private individuals. All these resources are available for free download on the AQC website (www.qualiteconstruction.com).

In the field of sustainable development, AQC uses its monitoring activities and practical experience to advance best practices in high-performance buildings and improve overall construction quality in both new builds and renovations. At a national level, AQC also provides the technical secretariat for the PACTE government programme (www.programmepacte.fr).

Since 1 March 2015, AQC has been operating three regional offices in Bordeaux, Lyon, and Strasbourg. These offices aim to raise awareness of the AQC’s work and foster ongoing dialogue at the local level. In addition to regular collaborations with construction stakeholders (professional organisations, insurers, local authorities, government departments, and resource centres), the Strasbourg regional office has focused particularly on training initiatives. As a member of the Ecoconstruction Campus of Professions and Qualifications, it has signed a partnership agreement with the Strasbourg Academy, the Strasbourg School of Architecture, and INSA to support education and training in the construction sector.

As a key Player in the regional economy, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alsace Eurométropole supports the economic development of its region and provides daily guidance to 65,000 businesses in commerce, industry, and services.

The CCI helps companies pursue sustainable development, recognising sustainability as a key driver of performance, cost savings, and innovation.

CCI advisors offer “energy” visits and encourage businesses to carry out energy audits and greenhouse gas emission assessments. The CCI also organises events to review the latest developments in the energy sector. To add a cross-border dimension to these initiatives, the CCI Alsace Eurométropole became a member of the TRION-climate association in late 2015.
