Bodies of the Association

Political Monitoring Committee

TRION-climate’s financial partners may delegate a political representative to a monitoring committee. This representative nominates candidates for the board of directors and may submit strategic recommendations to the association's general assembly. The term of the monitoring committee aligns with the duration of the funding agreement. Until the end of 2027, the monitoring committee consists of the following members:

  • Carsten Gabbert, Regierungspräsident Freiburg for the land of Baden-Württemberg
  • Michael Hauer, State Secretary, Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy and Mobility of Rhineland-Palatinate
  • Christelle Lehry, Vice-President of the Environment Commission, Grand Est Region
  • Dr. Marie-France Vallat, Councillor in charge of renewable energies, Collectivité européenne d’Alsace
  • Kaspar Sutter, State Councillor, Canton of Basel-Stadt

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of seven members: two from Germany, three from France and two from Switzerland. Members of the Board of Directors are proposed by the Monitoring Committee and elected by the General Assembly for a term of three years. Until the end of 2027, the Board of Directors comprises:

Dr. Alberto Isenburg
Founding Father and First President of TRION-climate e.V. 

Director of the Environmental Service, Canton of Basel-Landschaft, he served as founding president of TRION-climate e.V. from 2015 to 2018. Upon his retirement, Dr Isenburg stepped down from the presidency.
